Scone recipe here http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/cuisine/european/english/buttermilk-scones-with-west-country-clotted-cream-and-raspberry-butter.html
Important stuff - don't try to do without the buttermilk. Although you can make scones without it, I think it's what makes this recipe special. Also, do use a palette knife - if you don't have one, use a round bladed ordinary knife. I think this helps to keep it all light, rather than wading in with the hands straight away and playing mud pies. Also, cut the butter up into little pieces before you start. Also make sure you grease and flour the tray. Also, keep an eye on the time in the oven and remember to adjust if yours is a fan. Also, enjoy!! Who says yer mam's not a control freak :)

Ooh I'd love the scone recipe please, mum! I'm planning to try cookies this weekend, I've got chocolate chips at the ready... Someone at work brought in the most delicious banana cake today so I feel the need to try that too soon.

Thanks Karen! The first batch actually tasted even better than the second in the end, I think I overdid it a little bit with the frosting... I'm not sure why the person that wrote the recipe reckoned I'd need almost as much frosting as cake mix!

They all look good--even the first batch. And if the police come round again you'll have something to offer them!
